Nevada Skies
Nevada Skies is a timelapse/photography project designed to highlight the many unique aspects of the Nevada sky and how it plays into the local landscape. Reno is fortunate to be so close to so many different types of environments and skyscapes. Downtown fills the area with light and movement 24/7. Just a two hour drive North East to the Black Rock Desert, or an hour South East to Ft. Churchill are among the darkest places in the world. An hour to the East just outside of Fallon yields some of the most spectacular sunsets due to the long horizon and flat terrain. Just South West of Reno, Tahoe offers a mixture of darkness and small elements of modern lights. Since Reno sits at the base of a group of mountains there is a natural orographic barrier that creates dynamic cloud transitions.
